The finished project.

So now I have doubled the length of the animation by offsetting the animals entrance. Also added a title which may change depending on if Daniel approves!!

Adding a chameleon and cleaning up the shot. I think this will be the last animal I add now. I will now finish cleaning up the shot and get it ready for hand in.

So today I have added the giraffe and the tortoise.

I have also added shadow to the animals where the pages overlap. Also i have made the tree seem in front of the lion.

Here is 2 days worth of work. At the minute I am rigging and animating a giraffe that is going to walk in on the right hand side. Also need to stop the sliding of the lion and do some roto work in Nuke to get rid of the animals where the paper is folded up.

Innovations Project

At the minute I am working on my innovations project. Within this project I am using a child’s imagination within their drawings to drive an animation.

‘Olive the Ostrich’ by Blue Zoo was a big influence for this project and I was lucky enough to be invited to the studio to help me with the project.

The project started with drawings from my 6 year old brother being sent to me. These drawings were so inspiring and help with research into the different child development stages.

After I obtained these drawings I set up a workshop with him for more inspiration.

The Workshop went amazing and Daniel ended up drawing a jungle! This jungle along with the many animal drawings he made inspired my final artefact.

Here is the final drawing which I will use as a backplate.

So for this project I had to spend a maximum of 100 hours or 10 days on the project from blocking to final animation.

It was really tough and Im not very happy with the final result but here it is.

Here is the 2d animation blocked out. I didnt enjoy doing this as much as I thought i would and to be honest I am not 100% happy however, with the deadline for the blocking stage tomorrow its time to hand in and hopefully get some really helpful feedback!!

The last animation. This is the mischievous/sneaky character.

Here is the second, this is my drama queen/sad character. This is the one im least happy with at this stage…

So this is the first blocked out animation, needs lots of work but this is my overexcited/happy character opening a box…
